August 8! Mark your calendars! This class with Larry Winslett teaches students to capture the art and science of buildings through photography, focusing on techniques like composition, lighting, and perspective to create compelling images. You will learn to use both professional and smartphone cameras to document architectural exteriors and interiors, and gain skills in post-processing, such as correcting distortions and enhancing color. This includes understanding how to use specialized tools like tilt-shift lenses and mastering workflows from site scouting to final presentation. This class will start in the classroom followed by a field shoot on the beautiful Univ. of North Georgia campus in Dahlonega.

About Melvina Edwards✨✨

Melvina is a professional portrait photographer based in Atlanta whose creative vision is deeply influenced by years spent as a professional dancer and choreographer. With a keen understanding of movement, expression, and the human form, she brings a unique perspective to every portrait session, capturing not just the image, but the soul of the subjects.

Melvina enjoys working with a diverse range of clients to create personalized works of art.

Recently, she was one of 28 international photographers whose work was selected for the 2024 APG Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport Exhibition.

When not taking photographs, she loves going to the theater, traveling and scuba diving every chance she gets.

Our intermediate photography class at Atlanta School of Photography offers budding shutterbugs the opportunity to take their skills to the next level. In this one day intensive, students delve deeper into the intricacies of manual mode, one of the essential pillars of photography. Through hands-on exercises and comprehensive instruction, participants learn to confidently control aperture, shutter speed, and ISO to create stunning images with precision and creative intent.
