My aunt bought me my very first point and click, a Vivitar when I was 9 years old. I would photograph any and everything and every day when she got off her job at Taco Bell she would take me to K&B to drop off her camera to get the physical prints developed.

That was the absolute highlight of my summers.

Photography started from curiosity and I fell in love with it when I learned I could be a source of future reference and reminisce.

With me being away from it off and on for the past few years I’ve discovered that it really is a medicine for my soul. The bonus part is I get to live it out loud and in real life with amazing individuals who are discovering and working through their purpose and processes as well.

I’m forever grateful for this gift and talent and I pray it helps, inspires and further aspires me and anyone who I work with or comes across my work to continue to move through this beautiful life with a reminder to always hold onto the smallest moments of joy❤️

Let’s talk myths surrounding brand photography!⁣⁣

She who is confident is the prettiest. This includes the girl with the gash in the middle of her forehead with a fork protruding through it. If she’s feeling pretty, she is pretty. You could have the bomb look, beat face and banging bod hut if you’re not feeling it, it’s gonna show. Photogenic is what photogenic feels and what photogenic feels, the camera captures it!⁣⁣

Not really.They only tell a fraction of your story. A teeny, tiny fraction and that doesn’t help your peeps gravitate to you! You have to show more of your goofy, giddy, Starbucks loving, thrift store shopping, mommy during the day, Netflix binger by night self! ⁣⁣

Let me be first to say, photography isn’t cheap. It can get pricey but when done right, it’s one of the best investments ever. However this also goes along with not going overboard with the spending when it comes to prepping for your shoot. Use what you have. Wear what you’re most comfy in, save the extra bucks on the blazer that doesn’t reflect your brands personality and spend that on the more images that you’ll be able to use throughout the remainder of the year!⁣⁣

This by far the furthest from the truth.com. Just because you enjoy your alone time doesn’t mean you can’t creep out every now and then and show the people what’s up. It’s actually in an introverts best interest to show their face and bust their branding session wide open. When an introvert shows up, the people listen because they are fueled by your audacity!

I went MIA since November 2025, peeking in here and there through stories but for the most part just went into full on winter hibernation mode.

I was still working, still booking, most specifically I worked ALOT in December yet after I work I went home and rested.

For a very long time I’ve associated most of who and what I am with work, motherhood, relationships, all of which my identity has been tied to it and guess what I know I’m not the only one.

Do I regret it? Nope, this is womanhood. But I realized it didn’t have the be only that in totality.

I sat still and for a while really grasping a clarity of who I am. I’m still working on the clearness of it all but I will tell you that I am all of the whom I’ve encountered, endured, loved and been loved by and I wouldn’t trade anything to not be a woman.

This is for all the women who had loved me, loved on me, loved someone who has entered womanhood through puberty, teenage, early 20’s, motherhood, mid age, postpartum, elderly, career, friendship, life change,etc.

I take this month, this moment to celebrate you, to celebrate us! Because of you, I am who I am and I am standing in all of the beautiful and improving parts to send you all the love, hugs, and all the energy to need to thrive forward! I also take this month, this moment to encourage you to embrace rest, forgiveness and grace. You are worth it❤️

Ahhh I turned 40 yesterday (8/8✨)

I wanted to bask in the moment and just feel it and flow with it.

I booked a solo trip to Mexico and as I was at the highest altitude a feeling of gratitude came over me I couldn’t contain. Initially my eyes watered, the tears started flowing then I became just full of emotion and began sobbing.
I didn’t hold back though because I remember every moment, every emotion, everything and I KNOW, whew I know it’s no coincidence that faith & movement go hand in hand.

I realized that I made it to the other side of another wave of life. I also realized that this deliverance to the other side this time meant I’d been equipped the whole time. I also realized that more storms will come but God equips you best while you’re going through one. I cried for about 30 minutes and just couldn’t help but give God so many thanks, whew because this past year was work, intentional slow, no results, no clapping, just quiet work.

I know for sure I’m going to always be ok even if I ever doubted it before I know God never takes his hand from me and for that I’m grateful.

For more than a year I’ve been saying I’ve needed to get to the water, to the ocean, to the beach and here I am.

Stillness. Peace. Slowness. Solitude. Gratitude.

40, wow!! So much more life I am so excited to experience and LIVE while living! I hear 40 is when it’s starts to get really good, so LFG!

I feel this is the year of KNOWING, resting in ways more than taking a nap, stepping into making money to yield more freedom and opportunities to continue to become more of Shekeidra. This is the year of personal development, personal accountability and personal responsibility to myself.

I’m proud of the 4,14,24,34 and now 40 year old Shekeidra, I am truly a ♌️.

I’m Shekeidra, most people call me Shekeidra and NO you can’t call me KeKe, ever🙄

By the song choice you should know I’m a true 80’s baby🤸🏾‍♀️

I’ll be FORTY on 8/8… yes ma’am, real grown😎

I love to dance, always down to talk ish & politic and when I’ve over introverted, you can find me deep in a book or binging on a rom com or crime doc.

I’m a wife, mom, daughter, BIG sister, cousin and genuine friend🫶🏽

I’ve been a photographer all my life but I began getting paid for it around 2012’ish.

Throughout my photography journey I’ve photographed newborns, maternity, wedding, celebrities, sports and now business owners and brands. Photography has taken me to places and in rooms I’m still in awe of every single time I get the opportunity to be apart of the moment.

I’m also a former studio owner. I made the hard decision to close the doors last year and recently realized I’ve been in my feelings about the decision and the aftermath of closing since then but more on that later. 👀

These days I’m most excited to work with founders, creatives, coaches, speakers, healers, storytellers who are building brands and legacy that serves a purpose.
