Our guide Ngima and his two sons. They were fearless and had fun on the 50 foot high climbing wall. We did too!

Tomorrow we will start our Manaslu Circuit trek with an 8 hour drive on dire 4wd roads to get to our trailhead.

Another day of shopping and strolling around Kathmandu. Tomorrow we will start our Manaslu trek.

The highlight today was climbing at an indoor/outdoor climbing gym with our guide and his two sons. The boys really enjoyed it, and Laura and I did too. It was the third continent where we have climbed together.

In the first video, I am belaying Laura as she climbs. In the second video, both of Ngima's boys are climbing.

Laura and I like geology, rocks, and minerals. So we did some rockhounding today in Kathmandu... at our favorite jewelry store. :-)

Woo hoo! After a long, long flight from our home in Ashland, Oregon, Laura and I are now in Kathmandu for our trek around Manaslu...the 8th highest mountain in the world. This is my fourth time here, and Laura's second...we just can't seem to get enough of this beautiful and enchanting land.

Today is a day for strolling and shopping and drinking excellent Himalayan coffee. Tomorrow we will be driving 8 hours over dire roads to get to the start of our trek.
