I met Paige a couple of years ago at a wedding I was photographing in Hawaii— her smile is one you can’t forget, the kind that fills an entire space. ✨
Having her and Evan here in Asheville for their engagement session felt so special. These photos were taken within the first 15 minutes of being in front of my camera — pure connection and joy. We spent the evening just running around, playing, laughing, and soaking up the last bit of light as the sun set behind the mountains.

I met Ashton & Alex at their beautiful home in St. Pete the day before their wedding. Just days earlier, they had finally moved back in—months after Hurricane Milton had destroyed nearly everything. ⁠
⁠
They had originally planned to exchange vows at their home—in their backyard, but when the storm forced a full remodel, they gracefully pivoted their entire wedding to a downtown venue.⁠

Still, we wanted to honor what this home means to them. So the day before their wedding, we returned—this time to a space rebuilt with care and filled with intention. We spent the afternoon soaking in the quiet, capturing them in the place where they feel most like themselves.

Their new couch had just arrived right before I got there, so we decided to do the session in the still-empty room—just the two of them, soft light, and space to breathe.

Kat didn’t want to stop for any posed photos on her wedding day. No traditional wedding party photos, no family formals, no classic couple’s portraits—and honestly? I loved that.

Most of my couples come to me because they don’t want their photos to feel posed. I have an entire process to make portraits fun, relaxed, and natural—but I’ll say it: traditional family photos can be a little awkward (there, I said it).

This day was different. Everything was documented as it unfolded, exactly as it happened. After the ceremony, the family gathered, and I captured the hugs, the movement, the emotion—those were the *family photos*.✨

My favorite moment? When Kat and Nathan quietly practiced their first dance. I followed them and got a few sweet frames without interrupting the moment. Later that night, we spent just 3–5 minutes grabbing some quick bride and groom portraits before they headed to their after party. Photos of bridal party and friends effortlessly happened throughout the evening without Kat and Nathan missing a moment of their wedding.

The result is connection, honesty, and joy—no posing required. ❤️
