Some sessions stay with you long after you put the camera down. This was one of those. 🤍
Basti’s mom reached out to me after a sudden illness meant their time with him was coming to an end. She told me they didn’t have any photos of the all of them together—or a family photo that included both of their dogs—and she wanted to change that while they still had the chance.
So we spent some time together at their home, in Basti’s favorite place. No elaborate setup. No need for everything to be perfect. Just the people he loved, the home he knew, and the little everyday moments that suddenly mean absolutely everything.
These photos are why I believe so deeply in taking the picture. Your pets are family. They are part of your routines, your memories, your home, and your heart. And sometimes we don’t realize how important a photograph will become until it’s all we have left to hold onto.
I’m incredibly grateful that Basti’s family trusted me with something this personal and that they now have photographs of their whole family together. 🤍
Rest in Peace Basti 🌈
Take the pictures. Get in the frame. Include the dogs. You will never regret having too many memories of the ones you love.
