My name is Elin Oom and I am a small business photographer based out of Asheville, NC I love being behind the camera and seeing the world through a lens!

I am still fairly new to this business but every one needs to start somewhere! I am a recent grad with a bachelors in Studio Art with my concentration in photography! I do photo shoots, head shots, and senior pictures to bring out the best in you! In the photos tab you can check out some of my work!

Had the most amazing opportunity to spend two whole weeks at Penland School of Craft photographing all of the amazing artwork that will be in the Annual Benefit Auction! I want to extend a special thank you to Cami at .marketing for this opportunity and being so cool and teaching me so much during this job! Our bodies may hurt but my heart is full! Shoutout to the amazing volunteers and Laura (Penland special events staff) that helped us handle all the art- Susan, Tater, and Jerry- couldn’t have done this without you! And all the amazing people I met during my time there-I am so terrible with names but I promise they were just wonderful!

I was awestruck by this amazing view we had during lunch everyday at the Pines on Penlands campus so I felt I needed to document it! More artwork photos to come…

Thank you and all the amazing artists whose work was just unreal!

I am so excited to share this project! I worked with artist and jeweler, Elizabeth to photograph her work for portfolio and website use! I’ve been a fan of her work for a while so it was really exciting when she asked me to work with her! I was even more excited when she wanted models! Nataly and Ivanna made this shoot come to life and we had so much fun!

Back in August I had the pleasure of working with while they were visiting Asheville to deliver a Advisory Services Panel with the City to provide recommendations to the city for economic recovery and resilience in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

It was very interesting to ride along with them on their tour of the most affected areas and here speakers from the city describe the needs for each area. It helped me reflect on how much Asheville as a community has done in just one year following this “once in a lifetime” disaster that devastated WNC in September last year.

I wanted to share this as we are coming out of the anniversary weekend and I’m sure everyone here in WNC and people everywhere in NC has felt a lot of emotions over the last weekend/week. I myself have been holding space for myself to reflect and feel- overall gratitude for my community and the resilience we showed as we came together to support each other after the storm.

So excited to share these images from my product session with Rebekah ! She is a local candle maker that has eco-luxury natural waxes with fine fragrances of Indian inspired scents. All candles come in these beautiful refillable jars!
Bekah was a joy to work with in the studio at which created an easy going vibe for our shoot!
Can’t wait to see the images in action on website and social media!
