Jefferson Park United Neighbors hosted its annual Dog Days of Summer event on Tuesday, August 4, at Jefferson Park—and PuppyPix Pet Photography was there to capture the fun.

After a lot of work behind the scenes, the new site is finally up. It's built to better showcase what PuppyPix is all about—creating meaningful portraits and artwork that celebrate the bond between people and their dogs.
One thing I already know: there are too many portfolio images right now. I'll be trimming those down later today, but I'd love your feedback before I do.

Our hearts are so full! 🐾 The 2026 Senior Model Call is officially closed.

We’ve spent the day reading through your incredible stories, and honestly, we’re moved to tears. The love and loyalty you share with your senior dogs is the reason we do what we do. Thank you for sharing your silver-muzzled best friends with us!

We’ll be reviewing all the nominations over the next few days and will announce our Model Call winners early next week. Stay tuned!

Those gray muzzles and wise, soulful eyes tell a story that only a lifetime of love can write. There’s something so incredibly special about a senior dog: the way they’ve settled into themselves, the quiet bond you share, and the way they still look at you like you're their whole world.

These senior years are so precious, and honestly, they go by much too fast. I want to help you honor that journey and capture the heart of who your dog is right now. We’re wrapping up the search for our Senior Model Call, and I’d love to hear your dog's story. It’s not about being "perfect" for the camera; it’s about celebrating the authentic, beautiful bond you have.

One of my favorite things about being a photographer here in Denver is getting to spend time with senior dogs. They have this calm presence that you just don't get with puppies.

Capturing those quiet moments doesn't have to be complicated. Here’s how I usually do it:

Don't rush them. Senior dogs work on their own schedule. If they need to sit, let them sit. If they want to sniff, let them sniff. The best photos happen when they’re just being themselves.

Get down on their level. I spend a lot of time laying in the grass to get these shots. It helps you see the world from their perspective and makes the connection feel much more intimate.

Look for the small stuff. The frosty paws, the graying chin, or the way they look at you when you say their name. Those are the details that tell their story.
