'Sunflower Sunrise'
Golden heads lift toward the breaking day,
A sea of sunflowers, bright and bold,
Their faces turned to catch the ray
That paints the clouds in fire and gold.
Above, the sky is torn with light.
Soft blues and oranges in flight,
Dark clouds drifting, soft and slow,
While morning’s fire begins to glow.
A quiet road curves past the field,
Where power lines and distant trees
Stand watch as colors softly yield
To dawn’s warm, endless mysteries.
Green stems sway in the gentle air,
Each bloom a small sun of its own,
Holding the day’s first hope with care
In this wide, golden, living throne.
Here, in this field at sunrise hour,
The world feels new, the light feels pure.
A quiet gift of nature’s power,
Simple, radiant, and sure.
