My page will be going quiet soon.
You read that right.
I love photography. It has always been a passion of mine, and I truly love getting to capture your families, your milestones, your love stories, and all of the little moments in between.
But I’d be lying if I said the social media side of running a photography business hasn’t been sucking the life out of me.
You scroll through Facebook hoping someone is looking for a photographer. You see 300+ comments already, but you comment anyway, hoping they’ll see your work and think, “Wowza. She has great photos, great reviews… I think I’ll go with Freedom Photography.”
And honestly? That happens far less often than you’d think.
Photography is an incredibly oversaturated industry, and keeping up with it all can feel like a full-time job in itself. Posting on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Updating my website. Sharing in groups. Coming up with hashtags. Writing goofy captions and meaningful captions. Trying to stay relevant. Trying to stand out.
And while I’m grateful to say I remain busy with my business, I’ve realized I’m working too hard at the business side of something I’m supposed to love.
It’s starting to take away from the joy of photography — and, more importantly, it’s taking time away from my family.
My babies won’t be little forever. And I don’t want to look back someday and realize I spent their childhood worrying about algorithms, engagement, likes and booking inquiries.
So I’m choosing differently.
My page will be quiet, but I’ll still be here! ✨️✨️Messenger will remain open, my website will remain available, and my camera will absolutely still be capturing you and yours.✨️✨️
I’m not walking away from photography.
I’m just walking away from the part that was making me forget why I started. Thank you for understanding, supporting me, and trusting me to capture your memories.
Now, I’m going to go enjoy my babies while they’re still babies.❤️🙏📸
