Today, on Memorial Day, we pause to remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
As a tribute to Maryland’s Greatest Generation, we're sharing this interactive 3D scan of the Maryland World War II Memorial in Annapolis. Dedicated in 1998, the memorial honors the more than 275,000 Marylanders who served during World War II and the 6,454 Marylanders who never returned home. The memorial's 48 granite pillars represent the 48 states of the Union during the war, standing as a lasting reminder of courage, sacrifice, and freedom.
Take a moment to explore this remarkable memorial from anywhere and reflect on the sacrifices that secured our tomorrow.
