There are moments as a photographer that you never forget… and this will forever be one of mine.
When Nomin reached out wanting to propose to Megan at Palisade Head, I instantly knew this was going to be something special. The only challenge? Neither of them was extremely familiar with Palisade Head, so making sure everything came together in the right place at the right time took all of us working together. We had one chance to get it right, and somehow we pulled it off perfectly.
Nomin’s best friend flew in from Michigan to be there, Megan’s mom was waiting nearby to witness one of the biggest moments of her daughter’s life, and my heart was racing right alongside everyone else’s as we waited.
And the best part…
Megan had absolutely no idea.
I’ve known Megan for so many years. I had the privilege of coaching her in dance when she was in high school, and later I photographed her senior portraits. Watching her grow into the incredible woman she is today and then getting to witness the moment she said “yes” is something I’ll never forget. It’s such a beautiful reminder that sometimes the people whose stories you photograph become part of your own story, too.
The joy, the happy tears, the laughter, the hugs, and the stunning views overlooking Lake Superior made it feel like pure magic.
Congratulations, Megan & Nomin. Thank you for trusting me with one of the most meaningful moments of your lives. It was an honor I’ll cherish forever.
This was just the beginning of my North Shore adventure, and I can’t wait to share more of what I captured while I was there. 🤍
