Somewhere between the newborn stage and their first birthday… they become a little person.

They learn to sit. They find their voice. They belly laugh. They reach for you when they need comfort, but they’re also so eager to explore the world around them. It’s one of the biggest periods of change you’ll ever watch them go through, and somehow it all happens in the blink of an eye.

As much as these sessions are about your baby, they’re just as much about you.

Get in the frame. Let them play with your hair, snuggle into your shoulder, hold your finger with their tiny hand. Years from now, they won’t care if your makeup was perfect or if you still had those last few pounds of baby weight. They’ll just be so thankful they have photographs of you loving them.

And if Grandma is still here, bring her too.

There is something so incredibly special about watching three generations together. Your baby won’t always remember these days, but one day they’ll treasure the photographs of the women who loved them first.

These aren’t just milestone photos.

If you would have told me a year ago that I’d be nearly booked three months in advance, I never would have believed you.

Yet here we are—with only a handful of dates remaining—and my heart is so incredibly full.

Every once in a while, I get to press pause on everyone else’s memories and preserve my own.

I started my photography journey long before I became a mama. Back then, I chased beautiful light and beautiful moments, never realizing that one day the images I’d treasure most would be the quiet, ordinary mornings at home.

A wet, overcast morning. Mud between tiny toes. Fresh eggs tucked into a little basket. Pig snouts waiting at the fence. My baby determined to keep up with his big brother. And an unexpected hug that lasted just long enough for me to catch it.

These are the moments I never want to forget.

Not because they’re extraordinary, but because they are our everyday.

I wanted to remember my baby before those four tiny chiclet teeth disappeared behind a full smile. I wanted to remember the way my oldest proudly checks the nesting boxes and cares for every animal like they’re his own. I wanted to remember this season—when the world felt big, the grass felt taller than they were, and every puddle was worth jumping in.

One day these boys will be grown.

The muddy boots will sit empty. The little hands won’t reach for mine quite so often. The morning chores will belong to someone else.

But these photographs will bring me right back here.

To the damp grass beneath bare feet. To the smell of rain and fresh earth. To the giggles echoing through the pasture. To two little farm boys who didn’t know they were living the days I’d miss the most.

This is why I believe so deeply in photographs.

Not because they freeze time.

Because years from now, they’ll help us remember exactly how it felt to live it. 🤍

A Fresh 48 session is all about preserving those first precious hours after your baby arrives, before you head home and before the little details begin to change.

These sessions take place in the hospital within the first 24–48 hours after birth and are completely documentary in style. No props, no elaborate posing—just your family soaking in those first moments together.

Think tiny fingers wrapped around yours, sleepy newborn stretches, first sibling snuggles, proud grandparents meeting baby, and the overwhelming joy of becoming a family all over again.

These are the moments you’ll never get back… but you’ll always be able to relive through your photographs.
