There are a few Abilene photographers that had a huge influence on us in our earlier years. A few men that poured into us with their knowledge and experience - that freely shared all they had already learned through years in this craft.

Kevin Halliburton at Ice Imaging is one of them. I'm not sure our photography would be what is today without these mentors that willingly shared without any gain of their own.

How sweet are these!

We opened up an extra hour on December 5th for Santa portraits - We are now shooting 3-6pm! Single files are $45. Sets of 10 are $180.

As with the rest of our portrait sessions this season, all profit is being donated to Servants Hearts Ministries in Guatemala, supporting families and children in meaningful, tangible ways. It’s a beautiful reminder that the joy we capture here can reach far beyond the frame.

A decade healed from neuroblastoma. A mom whose faith and testimony lifts others.

This moment carries weight, healing, and testimony - photographing these portraits felt like standing on holy ground.

And side note - I get to be this kid's tennis coach too and I think that's pretty sweet.

“Photography” comes from the Greek words phōs (light) and graphé (drawing) — literally, drawing with light.

I love that. Because without light, there’s no photograph. Just darkness.

It reminds me of what Jesus said: “You are the light of the world.”
In a way, our lives are like photographs — shaped, revealed, and made beautiful by light.

When we let His light shine through us, we become part of the picture He’s creating.

Something happens when the camera becomes less about business and more about blessing—when the lens turns toward the quiet holiness in ordinary moments. Sessions this Fall have revived my love for this craft in ways I didn’t know I needed.

What began as an act of generosity (all profit is being donated to help us build homes in Guatemala) has turned into something that feels closer to ministry. Creativity flows differently when it’s untethered from a personal transaction—purer, freer, truer.

I don’t say that lightly, or with pride. Just with deep gratitude for this rediscovered joy. Photography, for me, has become a form of prayer—an offering of light.
