Fredrik Sträng Since childhood I have been told that the power of thought can move mountains. But this has not always been the case. I have not always climbed mountains. Ha!

https://www.linkedin.com/in/fredrikstrang/ After eighteen 8000-m expeditions where Mount Everest was one of the mountains I know that this is the case. Honestly, I have since childhood bee

n scared of heights, scared of death, I was victimized for being different and scared of just about everything imaginable. I therefore made myself my own superman suit one day when I was 6 years old because I was so tired of being afraid. Once I had this "suit" made of a pyjamas and a towel that I pretended was the cap I was indestructible, I could cheat fear and fear disappeared when I said the magical courageous words: give it to me, show me what you got fear, I'm not afraid of you! Here I stand! Hare you a chicken! I beat you! We can often do more than we think but sometimes we stand in the way of our ability. What does it take to awaken and sensitize this sleeping giant within us and succeed in the really big peaks and objectives that are important to us? I have succeeded in the mountains because I love what I do! I use these techniques to help others to succeed in their field of interest no matter if it's about harnessing your fear of heights or building a successful and strong team within a corporate business where I am your guide and inspirational source. It is joy, curiosity and passion for my profession that makes me yearn for the next peak and the next challenge. It is important to keep the spark alive if we are to be successful and manage to fill our lives with meaning. And it all starts with a first step, a thought. As Dalai Lama once said:
Take care of your Thoughts because they become Words. Take care of your Words because they will become Actions. Take care of your Actions because they will become Habits. Take care of your Habits because they will form your Character. Take care of your Character because it will form your Destiny,
and your Destiny will be your Life…

But this saying "power of thought can move mountains", does not literally mean that we can physically force mountain to move from one corner to the other (which I many years later understood), but rather that we have an unparalleled power to change our habits and viewpoint. A classical example that I practiced as my adventurous soul started exploring 8000 m peaks was that I could not change the steepness of a mountain no matter how freaken tired or frustrated I was after tracking chest-deep snow on 7000 m and above. But what I could change was my interpretation and relation to the circumstances. "The mountain does not become less steep just because I complain". Perhaps that is one of the reasons why mountains are so attractive. Mountains are the perfect environment for "instant gratification and instant paying your debt". They are neither fair nor unfair, they are just what nature has told them to be, steep. And somewhere between the base and the summit lays the answer to why I climb so I favor steepness. Give me more steepness, show me what you got! :)

So if you are a fan of life, mountains, challenges and pursuing your goals in life then my ambition is to nourish you with inspirational pictures, videos and updates from my fellow friends who push the limits for human endeavor. And please share your stories and passion with me! See you out there in the real world! Fredrik String

A surgeon in Kharkiv operates on cancer patients every day.
The city is under bombardment. The electricity goes out. The sirens sound.
He keeps operating.

On June 14–15, Kharkiv Half Marathon takes place — a virtual race where your entry fee buys surgical equipment for his operating room.

You can run a mile. You can run 21 km. You can run wherever you are. What you can’t do is pretend it doesn’t matter.

Join me: https://run.1forukraine.com/

During the weekend of 14–15 June, run your distance wherever you like — in the forest, on a track, around your neighbourhood.

Only the best is good enough. Treating myself as a king with Zinzino's Premium Balance Oil to maintain optimal omega-6:3 balance.

Some of my results include no longer having cracked, bleeding fingers (used to have chronic skin fissures that were painful when I climbed so much), improved sleep, and smoother joints than ever before.

Curious to learn about what your omega 6:3 value is? It's easy! Order via the link below, take the dry blood balance test at home, ship it to the lab, and in a couple of weeks, you will receive the results!

Can wolves change rivers?

It sounds impossible.

But according to ecologists, the return of wolves to Yellowstone may have reshaped an entire ecosystem — from beaver and elk behaviour… to forests… to the flow of rivers themselves.

The Secret to Performing Teams & Awarded Adventurer of the Year for the third time.

Most people say they want to climb the mountain.

Far fewer actually want the process that comes with it: exhaustion, uncertainty, setbacks, discomfort and responsibility.

After being told by doctors I would probably never run again due to severe knee osteoarthritis, I spent 68 days climbing all 377 Norwegian peaks above 2,000 meters — becoming the first Swede ever to complete the challenge.

The expedition taught me something important about leadership, resilience and team culture:

Strong teams are not built by asking:
“What do I get out of this?”

They are built by people asking:
“What does the mission need?”

In my latest article, I reflect on:
– Why adversity builds stronger individuals and organizations
– The difference between fear and actual danger
– Why comfort rarely creates growth
– What extreme expeditions can teach us about leadership and performance
– And why so many people today feel disconnected from challenge and meaning

Perhaps the most important question is this:

Do you truly want to climb the mountain — or do you simply want to stand on the summit?

20 years ago, I stood on top of Mount Everest from the north side in Tibet. I have dreamed of it since I was 7 years old. Absolutely crystal clear day, hardly any wind, and it felt like I could see everything. I sat on the top for about 40 min and marvelled over the beauty of our precious planet. I called my father over the radio, who was following my climb from the basecamp.

This was the start of my 777 project - 7 summits under 7 months. You can watch the film here (link in bio): https://youtu.be/g3Aoi0QwKOE
