This one is for the grooms.

The wedding industry often treats weddings as if they belong to brides alone, but weddings are about two people. Two people who dream about it, plan it, and celebrate their love together.

And while this story happens to be a straight couple’s intimate elopement in the Douro Valley, it’s worth remembering, especially during Pride Month, that weddings aren’t a “bride thing.” Love doesn’t fit into one template.

One of my favourite moments from this day? C went out to pick flowers himself and made D’s bouquet. A simple gesture, but one filled with intention, care, and love.

Because a wedding day isn’t about one person.

It’s about two people choosing each other.

An elopement in Porto, in the most intimate setting with just the two of them.

The plan was simple: make it fun, capture them as they are and register their love story in a meaningful but relaxed way. I think that the result speaks for itself, and a few hours turned into a lifetime of memories.

This lucky photographer in Portugal ended up with a friendship that goes beyond the ocean that separates us.
