📍 Ovalau, Fiji 🇫🇯

Ovalau in the Lomaiviti Archipelago is the 6th largest island in Fiji and home to the first capital Levuka.

We spent a few days staying in Levuka and were keen to see the rest of the island.

So we spent a day in a taxi which drove us around the island, quite literally - it's only 55 km around the entire Island, to check out everything of interest including plenty of viewpoints like this beautiful spot overlooking the ocean along the way.

Kia ora, I'm Adam from New Zealand Aotearoa and welcome to anyone that's followed along recently as I share our Fijian adventures.

Over the past few weeks we've been traveling around some of the islands of Fiji including Viti Levu, Ovalau, Kadavu, and the Yasawa Islands. 🇫🇯

They are all unique, and each is packed with beautiful moments, and often immersed amongst nature and wildlife, just the way we like it.

We've spent a lot of time on buses, tiny planes, and aboard boats, both big and small.

But it's all worth it as we seek to spend as much time as possible in and around the ocean, reefs, fish, beaches, mangroves, forest, trees, waterfalls, and birds.

I can't wait to share more from our Fijian adventures!

📍 Kadavu Island, Fiji 🇫🇯

We touched down on Kadavu Island after a short 50 minute flight from Suva in a small twin propeller plane.

After landing we walked off the runway, grabbed our bags and left the tiny Kadavu Airport.

Crossing the road from the airport to the beach, a boat awaited our arrival, and we were swiftly whizzing our way along this stunning coastline lined with coconut palm trees and turquoise ocean for 30 minutes or so.

We had to stop along the way as a small pod of dolphins decided to join alongside the boat!

Shortly after, we arrived at our destination of Papageno Resort to a warm Fijian welcome, a lot of wind, chilly temperatures by Fiji standards, and some beautiful ocean views.

We immediately went for a snorkel and were treated to 8 eagle rays circling around us! Awwww yes!
