Classic trio pose to start a gloomy day outside. Fun night to start the comp.

I'll be there from the afternoon. Thanks everyone for the support. I've left the order form open for that last minute realisation that you wish you'd ordered photos...but please come and see me to make sure I've seen it.

More Than an Art Show

While the NZ Art Show is known for bringing artists and art lovers together, some of the most meaningful connections happen between the artists themselves.

For many, the Show is the one time each year when friends from opposite ends of the country come together. Friendships that have grown over years: and sometimes decades: are renewed over shared meals, morning coffees, late-night pack-ins, and busy days on the exhibition floor.

Artists celebrate each other's successes, offer advice, lend a hand when needed, share opportunities, and provide support during the challenges that come with a creative life.

What begins as neighbouring stands often becomes genuine friendship.

Over the past 23 years, we've watched artists mentor emerging talent, collaborate on projects, support one another through life's ups and downs, and build a community that extends far beyond the walls of the Show.

Of course, sales matter. They help artists continue creating. But what makes the NZ Art Show truly special is the sense of connection, belonging, and generosity that exists within our artist whānau.

Art brings people together. Friendship keeps them connected.

Keeping the Show Fresh

One of the greatest challenges; and greatest joys of the NZ Art Show is ensuring that every year feels new.

While many of our artists have been part of the NZ Art Show whānau for years, we're always looking for new voices, new perspectives, and new creative journeys to share with our audiences.

Each year we welcome artists exhibiting with us for the very first time. Some arrive with established careers, while others are taking a brave step into a national audience. Together they bring fresh energy, new ideas, and exciting work that keeps the Show evolving.

For more than 23 years, the NZ Art Show has been about creating opportunities for artists and connecting people with original New Zealand art. That means honouring the artists who have helped build the Show, while also making space for the next generation to join the whānau.

To our new artists: thank you for trusting us with your work.

To our returning artists: thank you for continuing the journey with us.

Together, you make every NZ Art Show a little different, a little unexpected, and a lot more inspiring.

❤️ Welcome to the whānau.

The White Glove Crew: While the artworks may take centre stage, the NZ Art Show simply wouldn't happen without an incredible team working behind the scenes.

From carefully handling artworks in their white gloves, to assisting artists with set-up and pack-out, managing logistics, helping visitors, solving problems, and keeping everything running smoothly: our staff are at the heart of the Show.

Over four busy days they become art movers, customer service experts, sales assistants, logistics coordinators, problem-solvers, and often great friends to the artists they work alongside.

What we love most is seeing the genuine connections that form. Many of our team arrive with a passion for art and leave with a deeper understanding of the creative process, new friendships, and a few favourite artists to follow.

There are long days, plenty of laughs, countless kilometres walked, artworks carefully carried, and memories made along the way.

To our amazing NZ Art Show team: thank you for your energy, professionalism, enthusiasm, and care. You help create an experience that artists and visitors remember long after the doors close.

We couldn't do it without you. ❤️

A Family Affair

One of the things we love most about the NZ Art Show is that it's so much more than an art event: it's a community, and for many of our artists, it's truly a family affair.

Behind every artist is often a support crew helping hang artworks, greet visitors, pack sales, share stories, and keep things running throughout the weekend. From partners and parents to siblings and friends, the NZ Art Show wouldn't be the same without them.

What makes us especially proud is seeing the next generation getting involved too. Many of the young people working at the Show each year are the children of artists, growing up surrounded by creativity, learning the value of hard work, and becoming part of the NZ Art Show whānau.

For more than 23 years, we've watched families return year after year; children becoming young adults, helpers becoming artists, and lifelong connections being formed through a shared love of art.

To all of the families who help make the NZ Art Show possible: thank you. Your support, encouragement, patience, and enthusiasm are part of what makes this event so special.

❤️ Art brings people together. Family keeps them coming back.
