✨ Having picked my camera back up in April 2026 I pushed myself to submit eight images in June to the New Zealand Amateur Photography Awards. I couldn't be happier with the results, and I look forward to growing and challenging myself to work the 2027 awards, and possibly a few ever competitions too!

All three images entered in the Portrait Category received Highly Commended Awards.
Out of the five images I entered into the Photo Journalism Category three images received Highly Commended Awards, and two received Commended Awards.

When I picked up my camera again in April, I never imagined where the past few months would lead.

To everyone who has smiled at me from the side of the arena, purchased event photos, shared my work, or simply cheered me on—thank you. Your support has given me the confidence to take the next step.

Today, I'm so excited to officially launch the Stirrup and Stone website and open bookings for my Equine Portrait Sessions.

While event photography captures the excitement of competition, portrait sessions are something a little different. They're about slowing down and celebrating the partnership you share with your horse—the moments between the milestones that deserve to be remembered just as much.

To celebrate the launch, I'm opening a limited number of portrait sessions for my first bookings through the website, each including a complimentary fine art print.

This feels like the beginning of something really special, and I'm so grateful you're here for it.

Here's to the next chapter of Stirrup & Stone. 🤍

2026/2027 Show Season + Photoshoots! 📸🐴

With show calendars now being released for the upcoming season, I'm starting to lock in the key dates in my calendar!

So far, I've confirmed:
🐎 Wellington Eventing at Queen Elizabeth Park – December 2026 and April 2027
🐎 Wairarapa Eventing – November 2026

I'm also rearranging my schedule to attend the Wellington Eventing Derby Days on 9 August and 6 September 2026.

Photo prices will increase slightly for the 2026/2027 season. I'm doing my best to keep costs as affordable as possible, and I'm excited to be working towards offering professional prints in the future!

I've also had a number of enquiries about private photoshoots, so I'm pleased to announce that I'll be opening my calendar for bookings from August onwards. My website will be launching at the end of July, with more information available then.

Finally, for those who don't know me, Hi! I'm Sarah! 👋

I work full-time in emergency management on a shift-work roster while also studying part-time, so life is certainly busy! Because of the nature of shift work, if a show is postponed due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, there may be occasions where I'm unable to attend the rescheduled date. Whenever possible, I work with my colleagues to swap shifts so I can still be there.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Stirrup and Stone so far. I can't wait to capture a fantastic season with you all! ❤️
