We love a good flatlay, but the secret to those Pinterest-worthy shots is having everything ready before we even walk through the door. Instead of hunting for all your essentials while you’re in the makeup chair, put them all in one "detail box" the night before.

The Checklist:

• Both wedding bands
• Bouquet
• Shoes
• Stationery (invites + envelopes)
• Perfume and jewellery

Every high-end visual needs an intentional voice to lead it.

One photographer gives you a highlight reel, but a team gives you the full story.

We get it, moving around helps, but you still can’t be in two places at once. If we’re busy catching the groom’s reaction, we might miss the bride’s walk. If we’re focused on the first kiss, we might miss the look on your parents’ faces in the front row.

That is why we love showing up as a team. Having a Lead and a Secondary shooter means we never have to choose which moment matters more. While one of us handles the “must-haves,” the other is free to hunt for that candid energy, the artistic angles, and the tiny details that make your gallery feel alive.

It is about more than just more photos. It is about an aesthetic and a vibe that one person alone just can’t capture. Trust us, when you look back at your gallery, you’ll be so glad we had eyes everywhere.

Proof that you can survive a Wellington gale and still look like you’re in a magazine.

The reality behind this shot was mostly just us running for cover in the wind and rain. While we’re usually capturing those raw candids, we couldn't pass up this pocket of light for a quick editorial moment.

Unpopular opinion: The "in-between" shots are the ones you will actually end up hanging on your walls.

Think of an engagement session as a practice run for the big day, minus the stress. You get to dress up, hang out, and figure out how you move together in front of the camera before the wedding timeline kicks in.

Chris has been a valuable team member over the last couple of years, joining us as a contractor for countless projects. He’s always felt like part of the team, but we are so excited to officially welcome him to the Avodah family.
