Why? This project begun with these two. My nana and grandad, who passed away before I graduated nursing. I dreamed of being able to get a photo with them, often in my dreams I do.

The project begun with these two, because they were fundamental to who I am. The are fundamental to who I am, and of 32 is me.

To be honest it’s a mirror reflection, an adhd mix up of experience, outlet and consistent trial and review. It is how I live my life - and it makes sense that it might contribute to how I create. Whether it be writing, drawing, or taking photos, it is an extension of my experience.

Yesterday was a rest day, perhaps today is too. Just because I don’t appear to be moving, doesn’t mean I am not.

Captain said we’re in open water, she wasn’t wrong. Today’s been the first where I feel like sitting and enjoying the view. Sure, I can’t see land, sure I can’t ‘hop off and walk away’ but what I can see is the determination it took to get on the boat in the first place, and undertake a journey with purpose sans point. Which is the point, no?

The puna of creating is so great, sometimes it just wants to be seen. I started with a costar, so having it remind me to be free feels fitting it. Today I’ll sit with the journey; learn from my mistakes, and plan the rest of this voyage enjoying my surroundings. Imagine if I missed the view.
