October marks Alicia’s one-year anniversary in the GS fam! 🥳

It feels like just yesterday she walked into the studio for her first day with us, and now it feels like she’s always been here. I have been SO impressed with her over the past year.

I was hugely nervous about inviting another shooter in: how we’d keep our quality consistent, and whether our clients would accept someone other than me. But it’s been one of my best decisions, and I’m so grateful to have her!! Alicia picked up our shooting style very quickly, and as our Express Brand photographer she’s been creating such outstanding work. She’s the perfect mix of calm energy and deliberate direction. She genuinely cares for our clients, makes people feel comfortable, and gets beautiful results. I’m sooo proud of her mahi and the portfolio she’s built.

We're finalists! 🎉⁠

Gilmour Studios has been named a finalist in the Best Service-Based Business category at the 2026 NZ Small Business Awards, and I couldn't be prouder.⁠
⁠
What I appreciated about the awards process was taking the time to stop and look back at the last year. We rebranded and launched a new website. We trialled our own studio space and filled it with brilliant people, workshops and conversations. We launched Intimates by Gilmour Studios the Boudiour brand. And we welcomed Lisa and Alicia to the team.⁠
I’m incredibly proud of our team and grateful for the care they bring to our clients, and I love that this has been recognised.⁠

A huge thank you to and for bringing these awards to life. Two communities in a similar space choosing to collaborate rather than compete is exactly the kind of energy small business needs more of.⁠
