Have you climbed this? Tokatoka Peak (180m), between Dargaville and Ruawai. This rocky peak is the remnant of plug of an extinct volcano, and is now a scenic reserve with a walking track to the top. From the peak there are scenic views over the Wairoa River.

Standing tall!
Cool fresh air, bird song in all directions, and magnificent ancient trees. Trounson kauri forest in Northland is a fantastic place to visit. I’ve been told that at night you can see kiwi as well.

Digitising a Kodak Portra 400 negative using a macro lens, then converting to a positive with Negative Lab Pro in Lightroom. I like this setup, it seems a lot less hassle than a flatbed scanner! This shot from earlier in the year at Bannockburn Sluicing.

The amazing Athabasca Falls! These falls are around thirty minutes from Jasper on the famous Icefields Parkway, and well worth the stop. The viewpoints here offer an up close look at the raw power of nature, believe me the recorded sound here does not do justice to the thundering volume you experience while standing next to water!
