Baby girl has absolutely no idea she’s just been born into a family with some seriously good genetics 😂

Tamara and I first met 15 years ago when we were both shooting for Glassons. I eventually took on the role of booking the models as well as photographing them, and I had a little rotation of favourite gals. Tamara was always one of them.

Fast forward 15 years and I now get to photograph her in a completely different chapter of life. Getting to capture her first baby girl and their very first photos as a family of three 🤍

18 families came along to my winter minis this year, and I’ve loved looking back through these.

Different ages, different personalities, different kinds of chaos. Just their family exactly as they are right now.

And I think that’s my favourite thing about doing these. You don’t need a big milestone or a reason to get everyone in front of the camera. Sometimes it’s just nice to have a few photos of this particular version of your family.

My last minis for the year are happening on November 28th 🎄

Two simple setups in the studio. One beautiful, minimal white setup and the other with a deeper backdrop and a subtle nod to Christmas.

I saw Emma announce her pregnancy and that’s when I slid into her DMs and said “Hey, just wondering if you’ve ever thought about doing a newborn session? I’d love to capture that for you if it’s something you’d be interested in.”

Emma said yes please, book me in and here we are 🤍

I actually met Emma many moons ago when she did the hair for a shoot I was part of, so getting to photograph her again, this time with her very own little babe, was pretty special.

Thanks for saying yes, Emma. I’m so glad I got to capture this little season for you.

I’m very much here for using birthdays as an excuse to get the family photos done.

Two years of this little guy, his favourite people and the West Coast doing its thing.

I keep thinking about how much these photos will mean years from now.

Not just because they’ll remember this little season before baby number two arrives, but because they’ll have photos of Grandie’s farm. A place that has been such a huge part of their family for the past 45 years.

It’s funny how you don’t always realise you’re in the middle of a really special chapter until you look back on it.

I think one day, these will bring back so much more than just this moment and that’s why I love story sessions so so much 🤍

Not to scare you, but newborns are only newborns for a few short weeks. So if you’re currently pregnant, I think you should probably message me and book yours in. I’ll let these frames of Charlie do the convincing 😉🤍

Rocking her new baby to sleep while her other 3 wrestle on the floor behind her. Her new normal as a mum of 4 and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Just documenting their life as it is right now. Missing teeth and all.

As soon as I knocked on the door for Mikayla’s session, her oldest daughter Rosie welcomed me in, said hello and grabbed my hand to give me the house tour. She showed me her bedroom and all the spots in the house we could take photos of her baby brother.

At the end of the session she told her Mum she had to send me a photo and update me on her netball game that night.

Some family’s are just such a joy to photograph and yours is definitely one of those Mikayla.
