Some product shoots come with more logistics than others.

This product is a large, heavy freezer that needed to be transported upright and handled with care before it even reached the studio. Thankfully, Birgit’s studio is designed for exactly these kinds of challenges, with big bifold doors, easy access parking directly outside and no stairs to navigate.

Photographing the freezer brought its own technical considerations too, with reflective metal, glass surfaces and internal lighting all needing careful control to achieve clean, professional results. It’s the kind of behind-the-scenes problem solving that Birgit makes look effortless in the final images.

Photographing industrial machinery at this scale always comes with challenges, especially when the machine is 6m x 2m x 2m, incredibly heavy and can’t simply be moved into a studio.
Birgit photographed this Rocklabs machine for SCOTT Automation on-site at the factory while work continued around it. The focus was on capturing the scale, engineering and presence of the machine in a clean, professional way.
