I had the privilege of photographing this beautiful little whānau when buba (Tukarawa) was fresh and still tinny tiny.

Wiremu and Shania shared that they had recently received a taonga that once belonged to Wiremuā€™s great-great-grandfather.

Love documenting important taonga! Including his tokotoko in their portraits will bring a depth & curiosity as it invites pātai, and encourages learning within the whānau. It adds knowledge to the kōrero, helping to keep the pūrākau alive and growing alongside the younger generation.

Thanks Wiremu for allowing me to share, always proud when shy Tane hop infront of the lense for the sake of their whānau.
