Saturday night at Waikaraka Family Speedway had the Auckland Saloon Champs, with 22 cars come to try their luck and get there hands on the prize.

Two heats to set the grids for the 15 lap Feature, with the winner taking home the Auckland Title.

Turn 3 proved to be a challenge for most the driver's at some point in the night with the hole on entry bouncing the cars all over the place, some cars went four wheels of the track, and some on two wheels, none more so than the 7G of Rodney Mcindoe McIndoe Racing , in almost rolling the car, or going head first into the wall, got in back down on all 4 wheels, stayed away from the all and then finish the race.

Well done to all of the racers involved on the night, everyone made the best the could on the track and put on one hell of a show for the crowd.

Podium for the Auckland Champs.
1st - 14A Paul Thornley
2nd - 74A Scott Lansdowne
3rd - Ryan Hancock

Well what a night of Racing we had on Sunday night for the Finals night of the Teams Nationals Waikaraka Family Speedway .

After a slow start to the night on Saturday we the Track not playing ball with the racers, Sunday definitely turned on a great show by all.

The main show was the Superstocks Team Nationals, but with the Support classes on deck for there own Champs, the night had it all.

First up we had the Auckland Modified Champs, 10 cars showed up to claim the title, with the late entry of Rocket Racing Brad Lane, current 1NZ, coming from the back in both of the heat races, we all knew that the racing was going to be hard and fast.

Heat 1 and Brad laid down the challenged to the rest of the field, catch me if you can, moving from 10th to 1st in the 8 lap heat race. there were some great battles in the rest of the field with the the 2 women of the field, fighting it out to be 1st women home. this went to the 199H of Sam Keeling over the 86A Kaylee Brooks KayleeBrooksracing

Heat two and with a clear track in Front of her, Sam Keeling use it to her advantage and took a flag to flag win, to get one up over her brother.

Feature race of the night and the two cars from Rocket Racing shared the front row, Sam got the better start to take the lead into turn 1. Newton Gordge joined in the fun and split the family cars up until Sam hit the bump wrong into turn 3 and ran wide, allowing Brad to sneak up the inside and run way for the eventual race win and title of Auckland Champ. Sam was in 2nd and Newton in 3rd.

This was until with a handful of laps to go, Sam car started to sound off song, sounded like the old Massey Ferguson from the farm down the road, same had a gap to Newton so was taking it easy until with two laps to go, and the yellow came on, this was for the headers that and falling off Sam cars. DNF out of 2nd place. then on the restart Newton had a firework show coming from the car down the front straight only for the torque arm to part company going into turn 1.

Congrats to the podium on the night
1st, 1NZ Brad Lane Rocket Racing
2nd, 63A Daniel Crumpe 63A Modified - Daniel Crumpe
3rd, 86A Kaylee Brooks KayleeBrooksracing
