I shot this photo of the Red Hot Chili Peppers in “88 @ the Pinkpop festival in the Netherlands.
Proud that they used it in their latest
Netflix documentary. I met Hillel Slovak when he joined me when I was chilling in the grass backstage at the festival. We had a long talk about ….. ( I forgot) …… before their concert. Flea joined us and started to warm up before this legendary gig. I had never seen anything like that in my life. The speed in which he was casually heating up his fingers left me speechless. Hillel saw that and said…… “yeah …. He’s fu***ng fast isn’t he? “ !!! After that they invited me on stage with them. That’s how I could shoot from that angle, and was able to take this picture. Great documentary about a great guy in a great band. Happy they used this oldie the way they did. Go see it.

R.I.P. prince Ozzy I met Ozzy in the nineties when I made this portrait of him in “the Amstel Hotel” in Amsterdam. When I asked him if he would take of his glasses , he asked me why. “ because I always see the photographers in your mirror glasses”. A short moment later he took them off, pulled down hit eyelid and asked……. “Like this”… ? “Yess like that”. Me happy photographer!

Today Petros Loukas Chalkias passed away. One of the great Greek Musicians. I had the privilege to see him live on many occasions in Northern-Greece. And I will never forget the crazy nights in Athens at “Chalkias Palace”. I made this portrait of him in Ioannina/Greece. Thank you Petros for all the joy you brought to my Greek family and friends.
