Jothy & Sajee's wedding ceremony in Hill Country.

I first met this couple for a pre-wedding photo session in one of London's secret gardens. I knew I'd have the easiest time photographing them on their wedding day for how easy going they are and how much trust they put in me.

Narrowing down our work to 20 images is always a fun challenge, and AK_Photography absolutely brought the creativity on this one as my second.

Every so often you photograph a couple that lives in the moment, wear their hearts on their sleeves and trust you completely in your craft.

Actually, that seems to happen a lot, and I feel very fortunate for that. Just like some couples are a match for each other, some photographers and couples are also perfectly aligned.

Afra & Shizan were just that couple - from how they chose to read their vows, to how they were so present and full of love on their wedding day, to the look of contentment on Shizan's face and excitement on Afra's.

Tami & Chethi - couple photo session from an intimate gathering to celebrate these two.

It was a pleasure getting more mileage from the Sony A7V (I think this was the 10th event I shot with this) and a very minimal one light setup throughout - just the one flash on a monopod and getting creative.

For the past 1.5 years I've also been loving the modeling light on the V1, adding in a few other continous light sources as well, a change from when we used to lug 5 strobes to each wedding.

Your wedding photos should *not* be boring. They should be a testament to your love and that you were there.
They should take you back to that moment and remind you of everything you felt on that day.

I see couples fall into the trap of settling for less, and my advice is don't. Your future self will thank you for memorialising your union and getting the best people to do it.

You deserve it 🧡
