It was my first time to visit Tofuku-ji (東福寺) and, boy, I’m already thinking about visiting it again come fall season.

Most tourist spots have a cherry blossom path but their famous bridge, Tofuki-ji Tsutenkyo (東福寺通天橋), is well-known for its fall foliage. I can only imagine how scenic the valley of maple trees would look like in varying shades of orange during autumn. 🍁

If there’s one Japanese adjective that I closely associate with cherry blossoms, it would be 満開 (mankai), which roughly translates to fully bloomed.

There are some sakura variants that are still forming buds while some are already at its peak. Time to bring out the ol’ picnic basket in time for hanami! 🌸
