📸🌏 One of the world's most renowned photojournalism exhibitions is coming to Sligo.

From 14 August to 10 September 2026, Queen Maeve Square will host the World Press Photo Exhibition 2026 – the only Irish venue on this year's international tour.

Free to visit, the outdoor exhibition brings together some of the year's most powerful and thought-provoking photojournalism from around the world.

The exhibition forms part of Sligo County Council's cultural programme celebrating Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026.

We look forward to welcoming you to Queen Maeve Square this August.

This week we are delighted to bring acaptivating production with stunning large-scale projections, breath-taking aerial, poignant dance, and real-life tales told from the heart.

This Friday we invite you to join us for a pre-show event at 3pm with Undercurrent & Luail for an inclusive practice presentations and discussions. After the event participants can enjoy complimentary food on the mezzanine. Please advise us if you have any dietary needs at the time of booking. This event will be taking place in the rehearsal studio on the 2ndfloor. ISL and Wheelchair Accessible. Our lift dimensions are 90cm x 120cm.

Later in the evening Undercurrent will perform a new work Between Earth and Sky. It is groundbreaking in its unique weave of Irish sign language, spoken word and image, creating dynamic new theatre with embedded access. Show is at 8pm. Tickets are €12/€8 (+booking fee)

'Where the Curlews Once Sang' a short film I created, documenting an area near to where I live, that is going to have over 130 homes built. This film was part of the Bríd Festival Sligo in the The Hyde Bridge Gallery, Sligo.

Thank you to the extremely talented and generous writer Lorely Forrester for her beautiful thought provoking poem which Lorely very kindly allowed me to be included in the film. A big thank you to Tabby O Callaghan for recording and editing the sound.

After seeing this video I received a lovely email from a lady asking me for a commission piece about the curlews which I'm in the process of making!

The curlews have so many problems already 🥹 I'm glad to see this issue being raised regarding hill fires.

During a wildfire in Brookeborough, County Fermanagh on Thursday, a curlew nest directly in the fire's path was found.
