It's a testament to both Joe McGowan's writing and the regard in which he's held that he filled City Hall on a hot, sunny Friday afternoon for the launch of his latest book.

It was lovely to be there and to see a photograph I took with Joe featured on the back cover.

Famine: Voices of a Lost Generation by Joe McGowan is now available in local bookshops. If you have an interest in Irish history, it's well worth a read.
