MIA is a work on paper that developed through layers of paint, colour and loose, expressive marks. The painting evolved as I worked back and forth across the surface, allowing some areas to emerge while others were covered or left unresolved. I enjoy the uncertainty in this process and the way a work can take on a life of its own, often moving in a direction I hadn't originally intended.

Cappo is a small work on paper built through layers of paint, marks and gestures. The painting developed through an intuitive process of adding, removing and reworking the surface, allowing the image to take shape over time. I'm interested in the balance between control and spontaneity, and in leaving enough room for the unexpected. Mounted and ready to hang. Mixed media on paper, 31cm x 38cm

Liability At Worst

A gestural work on paper made with house paint, acrylic, oil paint and crayon. The work is about holding onto something that is difficult to put into words. I’m interested in the tension between what we see on the surface and what might be happening underneath. The painting was built through layers of colour, marks and movement, with parts being covered, rubbed back and painted over. What remains is a record of the process as much as the original idea.

Night Tryst - Meet The Fixer

I’m drawn to paintings that leave something open.
A figure that isn’t fully defined. A shape that could become something else.
A section that feels unresolved, even though it was intentional.

I like the space between recognising what you’re seeing and not being completely certain. That uncertainty gives the painting room to continue. Maybe that’s why some paintings stay with us longer than others.
