One of the most incredible experiences of my life – Skellig Island, Ireland. 🇮🇪✨ I am still living in the magic of Skellig Michael. I read a lot about this place before the trip, but reality exceeded all expectations.
Starting the day with an adventurous boat ride across the waves towards the island, and then climbing the stone paths built by monks with their bare hands. Knowing that back in the 4th century, monks built this sanctuary at the edge of the world is simply awe-inspiring. Every step across these rocks is a piece of history.
Puffins were absolutely everywhere – all around us, so bold, beautiful, and seemingly posing for every single shot. We had 2.5 hours to explore the island, but the adventure didn't end there! We were then taken on a boat trip around another, untouched island—a true kingdom of seabirds. From a distance, it looked quite small, but as we got closer, it turned out not to be tiny at all, completely covered in birds.
Now I completely understand why this was a Star Wars filming location—it truly feels like another world. I feel so much joy and gratitude to be able to share these views with you. 💛
Viena neįtikėtiniausių gyvenimo patirčių – Skellig Island, Airija. Dar vis gyvenu Skellig Michael magija. Prieš kelionę daug skaičiau apie šią vietą, bet realybė pranoko bet kokius lūkesčius. Pradėti dieną nuo nuotykių kupino plaukimo per bangas link salos, tada lipti takais, kuriuos rankomis pastatė vienuoliai. Žinojimas, kad IV amžiuje vienuoliai rankomis pastatė šią šventovę šiame pasaulio pakraštyje, tiesiog kelia nuostaba. Puffin čia buvo absoliučiai visur – aplink mus, tokie drąsūs, gražūs ir tarsi specialiai pozuojantys kiekvienam kadrui. Saloje turėjome 2,5 valandos laiko jos apžvalgai, tačiau po to nuotykiai dar nesibaigė! Mus plukdė aplink kitą, žmonių nepaliestą salą, kuri visa yra tikra paukščių karalystė. Iš toli ji atrodė tokia nedidelė, bet priplaukus arčiau pasirodė esanti visai ne mazyte, o visa visiškai nusėta paukščiais. Dabar suprantu, kodėl tai buvo „Žvaigždžių karų“ filmavimo vieta – tai išties kitas pasaulis. Jaučiu didelį džiaugsmą ir dėkingumą galėdama dalintis šiais vaizdais.
