Wonderful news in Newport this morning…
While repairing a burst water main overnight, crews uncovered what appears to be a second and legendary fastest ship from Gráinne Uaille’s fleet the “Amadánaibreáin” archeologists now on scene.
Traffic restrictions will be in place while works continue. Updates to follow.

NEW bus stops have been installed in Newport, with their location described as 'madness'.

Long delays expected in Newport this morning as the new toll plaza has been officially opened by former minister for transport
and friend of rural Ireland, Eamon Ryan, Mr Ryan was quoted as saying.
"This toll is a short term measure to pay for the repair of the bridge at Barrick hill and the improvements on the Mulranny road. and sure its only a fiver"

Please note that the gate is now completely cashless.

A very special day in Newport today as the first stage of the department of tourisms plans to swap statues to entice tourists further north along the wild Atlantic way has taken place, the iconic Gráinne Mhaol has been swapped out for a delightful statue of Paddington bear eating a sandwich. where as Gráinne Mhaol will now be situated on the roundabout at Strokestown
