Those first days go by in a blur, which is why so many parents choose to book a newborn session before their baby even arrives. It means one less thing to think about later, and the chance to document these first family portraits while everything is still so new…

Paint on her hands, paint on her clothes… and a canvas that ended up looking just as colourful as the afternoon itself. 🎨

There wasn’t a right way to do it, no perfect brush strokes, and definitely no rules. Just a little artist having fun while her parents watched every masterpiece come to life. Some sessions are about celebrating a milestone. Others are simply about giving children the freedom to explore, play and create.

I have a feeling this canvas might become a very special keepsake at home. 🤍

One of the biggest mistakes I see is waiting until the last minute to book a maternity session...

While the best time to be photographed is usually between 28 and 34 weeks, it’s a good idea to get in touch much earlier. My calendar often fills up weeks in advance, especially for Friday and Saturday appointments.

🙌🏼 The earlier you book, the more flexibility you’ll have when choosing your date, and you can also spread the payments before your session.

The older sibling energy during newborn sessions is always unpredictable in the best way. A mix of curiosity, excitement, careful hugs, and wanting to stay close the entire time.

These photos ended up feeling very true to this stage of life for them and I loved it!
