Before and after editing the photos. Sometimes a world of difference.
Not because it was a bad photo before editing, but because the RAW files need editing to turn your photo into a piece of art.
You can easily remove collars and leads, which sometimes can't be removed for safety reasons.
More than that, you can enhance the colors in a way to make your photos pleasing and nice to look at. So you draw attention to the right part of the photo and not the piece of seaweed sticking out at the back.
When you have a black dog in front of a bright background (Or worse, an Irish grey sky) it is impossible to get everything right in the photo without blowing them out. Brightening up the dog in photoshop can make all the difference.
