Once we got to the venue, there was plenty of time for everyone to get another drink, and to make a start with some of the formal photos on the list. This was the first time id been to Woodstock, so I had a look around the venue to start working out different locations for photos.
Not long after, the bride arrived and everyone was ushered into the ceremony room to get ready for the ceremony to start. The ceremony room was done really nice, and the big windows at the front filled the room with light which made everything feel light and airy.

The groom and the guests decided to meet for a few pre drinks at a pub near the wedding venue. Its a good job they did too, as one of the guests was nominated to sort all the ties and button holes for the groomsmen, before heading over to woodstock. Of course, I was already there to get people arriving and mingling. It was a super relaxed start to the day, and everyone was in good spirits for the day ahead.

By the time we got to the Isle of Skye we were wiped out. The B&B we stayed at was amazing though (for anyone looking for a nice place to stay that doesnt cost the earth, take a look at Woodbine House in Uig.

The hosts are super nice aswell, and give you all the inside info on places to go).
The next morning we were up and ready to go and headed over to the Old Man of Storr for a hike. It was high on my list of places to go visit. We got some amazing views and didnt take quite as long as we thought to get to the top.
From there we headed over to Inverness, and then south towards Edinburgh. We stopped of at the Fortingall Yew. One of the oldest trees in Britain (around 5,000 years old). After the quick stop, we were back on the road again and stumbled accross a place called the Falls of Dochart. We were in awe of the little village. What was supposed to be a quick stop for a drink turned into a good hour while I was skipping accross rocks in the river to get photos. It was so peaceful, with only the noise from the rushing water. Honestly, I could have stayed there all day. It was one of the best surprises of the trip.

Had some much needed time away a little while ago in Scotland. Of course I still took the camera with me, but this time it wasnt for work.
First stop was the Glenfinnan viaduct. After a long day of driving, I managed to peel myself out of bed in time to catch the Jacobite steam train (aka the Harry Potter train). There were far more people than I thought there would be, and by the time we got there, a lot of the car parks were full. Luckily we managed to get parked and had a full on march to the viewing point.
Then it was on to the next stop, the Eilean Donan castle, before heading over to the Isle of Skye.

Speeches done, shots knocked back and first dance over...... it was time for everyone toSpeeches get on the dance floor and knock out some shapes. I can safely say i was NOT disappointed! The dad dancing on display was a solid 10 out of 10.

After the speeches were over, the tables were quickly cleared and the first dance started. You could tell the bride and groom were in their own little bubble for most of the dance, only taking notice when their daughter wanted to join them. It was lovely to see a couple make it all the way through, surrounded by everyone and nobody at all at the same time.

Usually the groom gets absolutely roasted during the wedding speeches, but he escaped this time. Both the bride and the groom made a quick speech, then the mic was handed over to the bridesmaids, who all took turns, each adding their own little part to one big story. Which ended with a bit of a group hug, before all the tables were moved to get ready for the first dance.
