Kilwick Percy Hall, my favourite place for coffee at the World Peace Cafe Pocklington. Met some lovely folks yesterday and my regular walk round nearly always brings something to see . This time a treecreeper- just note the amazing camouflage. Goldcrests were very vocal too; alas could not get a photo. The Grey Squirrels were very acrobatic too .

A lifer ticked off for me, never ever seen an Osprey in all my time on the planet, then 4 turn up ....hot conditions with a lot of heat haze, heavily cropped despite the teleconverter on the lens ( which makes the images soft) due to the distance, but at last an Osprey, well 4 in total, so well chuffed. The youngsters in the tree, fat as butter, getting fuelled up for that epic journey, mum and dad still tending to them too. Excellent bike ride around the whole place ( 22 miles ). Rutland is vast, the company was excellent, and I think a birder in the making there ! I have resisisted Osprey overload in that i wont post 200 images ...... well not in one go at least .

Went for Coffee at my favourite place as i was passing anyway. I was chatting to a couple, and we most definitely heard a Tawny Owl calling (juvenile, I think). So I decided to go towards the general direction; there it was, wide awake in broad daylight, scoping the area. The songbirds were shouting alarms, and eventually the owl flew into the thick wooded area. All as a group of us watched. Next to where the car was parked, this Carrion Crow was on the lookout for opportunity; make no mistake, this bird is a formidable predator in its own right. Lastly, not least. A woodpigeon sunbathing
