We are one of the world's leading organizations for those interested in the study and use of all types of photographic equipment and the images they produce. Formed in 1977 the Club has around 500 members worldwide with diverse interests covering the whole of the 180(ish) years of photography. If collecting or using photographic equipment, investigating old processes, or just reading about them in

A club member without FB access sent this picture of his early version Leitz 13.5cm f4.5 Hektor lens. There is no serial number around the top of the lens, but this is scratched inside. He is asking if this is the serial number and if so, would it mean it’s one of the first examples made?
