Today’s newborn session included a gorgeous little baby and a very important furry sibling who clearly wanted to keep an eye on everything.

If you’ve just had a baby, I know exactly what you’re thinking…

“Let’s just get through today.”

The feeds, nappies,broken sleep, wondering what day it is and trying to drink a cup of tea while it’s still warm😅

Booking a photoshoot is probably the last thing on your mind right now…. But can I tell you something 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

These early days disappear so unbelievably fast.

Right now you’re holding a baby that still curls up exactly how they did in your tummy. Their tiny fingers wrap around yours. Their little feet fit in the palm of your hand. They spend most of the day snuggled up asleep on your chest.

…. and before you know it, they’ve changed, that’s why I do what I do 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Not to create perfect photos, bit to help you remember. To remember how tiny they were. How soft their hair was. How peaceful they looked when they slept… Aand to capture those gorgeous sibling moments that melt your heart every single time you look at them.

One day these photographs won’t just be pictures. They’ll be proof that this tiny little person was once this small, trust me, when you’re looking back in a few years, you’ll be so glad you have them 🤍

You know that prep guide I send out?

The one that says things like 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

✨ Choose colours that work together
✨ Keep patterns to a minimum
✨ Avoid everyone wearing something completely different

Well…

My lovely friend, brand designer extraordinaire, J Nichole Smith clearly read it and thought…“Nah” 🤣
She turned up for her family session with her gorgeous girls in stripes, rainbow colours and enough pattern to make most photographers twitch.

Walking in she says I knowwwwwww Kimi looking at me before I even opened my mouth… 😂😂😂

I BLOODY LOVE IT, these were originally shot on a plain neutral backdrop, but when I was editing them I couldn’t resist pulling out the gorgeous yellows from their outfits and creating something that felt as joyful as they are.

The photos are bright, they’re fun, full of personality… andddd most importantly… they’re them.

Do I still stand by my prep guide…. Yessss lol, I still encourage simple colours and coordinating outfits, but every now and then someone comes along, throws the rule book out of the window and creates something even better.

These photos just make me smile. They feel like sunshine, happiness and childhood all rolled into one💛

I have one newborn session available this Wednesday.

If you’ve recently had a baby and they’re between 6–13 days old, this could be perfect for you ✨

One minute they’re curled up in your arms, the next they’ve changed completely. These tiny days really don’t last long.

No stress, no pressure, just a warm cosy studio, plenty of time for feeds and cuddles and beautiful images you’ll treasure forever.

This 🤍

One minute you’re counting down the days until they arrive… and the next you’re wondering how they already look different from last week.

Newborn life is a blur of feeds, cuddles, little noises and very little sleep. It’s beautiful, exhausting and over far quicker than anyone warns you.

That’s why these photos matter. Not for today, but for the days when their tiny fingers aren’t so tiny anymore.

✨ Top tip: Before your session, try not to stress about getting baby into a routine. The best sessions happen when we simply follow your baby’s lead.

No fancy outfits, no perfect hair & no pressure. Just a mum, a dad and a tiny human they already love more than they knew was possible.

These are the photos that get me every single time.

Babies don’t stay this little. Before you know it, the tiny nose-to-nose cuddles become running around the garden, school runs and “Mum, stop taking photos of me.”

A little tip if you’re thinking about newborn photos… don’t wait until everything feels perfect.

The best time for a newborn session is usually within the first two weeks, but more importantly, come as you are. Your baby doesn’t care if your hair is done, if you’ve had three hours sleep, or if the washing pile is taking over the house.

And another little one… get in the photo. Not just baby. You too.

One day these photographs won’t just show what your baby looked like, they’ll remind them who held them, loved them and looked at them like they were your whole world.

So if you’re in the thick of newborn life right now… take the photo.

One day you’ll be so glad you did. 🤍
