Another flattened image of tree tops this evening. Where possible I'll trek up the side of the woodland specifically to see if there's anything worth photographing straight on. This tree line in particular caught my attention, the second and third tree from the left have this curve to them, standing out from the rest. Whilst the tallest, orange hued tree sits on the cooler, blue side that balances the suns glow on the right.

I've always struggled with wider, vistas around Lancashire - where I'm from - It's predominately exactly what I've tried to emulate in this photograph, rolling hills. Always great for wondering around the countryside but difficult to settle on a composition. Captured during quite a hazy sunset a few weeks before Christmas.

Have a Happy New Year everyone!

One from a few weeks ago when we had the cold snap that left a lot of the country with some awesome conditions.

Although after the first few days of this snow and ice I was getting frustrated as I couldn't even get my car off the road to get out shooting, I'd love a bit more of the same right now - Fingers crossed for some good conditions at the start of 2023!

Happy Christmas everyone!

I'm going a day earlier as to keep myself away from my phone on the day itself - Aiming to eat and drink myself into an early nap. Looked through my work for something 'Christmasy' and settled on this one I shot around a similar time last year at a local spot. No snow, but at least we've a tree!

Something pretty different from me today, captured during the cold snap we had last week. The whole woodland was eery and dark just before sunrise, thick fog blocked everything out within what felt like just a few meters. I wanted to capture the above sense of place without without being restricted by the typical rules I'd follow in photography.

One from yesterday mornings adventure into the tundra. The place looked amazing with snow, fog and this low light that made walking around really feel like I was miles from anything.

Been able to go out often with the conditions we've had recently - here's to said conditions reoccurring!

Something a little different from me this morning. I'd headed out like many yesterday for frosty conditions and whilst walking toward a spot for Pendle Hill, I noticed the moon just dropping toward the horizon line on the sloped edge of the hill. Fumbling around I got set up and started firing off frames as several flocks of birds were flying around the reservoir below me.

This is a single shot (Which I didn't think I'd manage) - I'd prefer the moon a little bigger and to the right but it is what it is. Seen some amazing moon shots posted by everyone else yesterday!

A pretty simple scene to share this morning but with some great colour, especially for the time of year.

This woodland is fast becoming my regular stomping ground in good conditions, loads of choices to photograph that if anything, left me in panic the first few times visiting. Starting to map the space in my head and navigate the trek a little easier.

Off out again this morning in the hope of some frost and patchy fog around Pendle, similar predictions most of this week so I've potentially a few chances for something decent!

It is good to be back shooting woodlands again for the third time this week. Heavily throwing myself back into the learning side of things and enjoying it, being the most important part.

Potentially looking like a few frosty mornings in the coming week - fingers crossed! For now here's a lovely foggy shot of a scene I have photographed before without premium conditions and it was lacking a little, not this time though!

Everyones had great, foggy conditions this week and thankfully Lancashire was the same for once. Here's a quick edit I've had chance to do with more coming through the week.

The patchy orange hues really caught my eye on this one, more I've worked on it the more birds I'm seeing as well. Think I'm on seven...
