🌈🌈 The Sky Had One More Surprise 🌈 🌈

When I was on Tunbridge Wells Common photographing the most beautiful full arc rainbow the colours began to fade and I assumed the show was over and started heading home. Heading down Major York Road, it was around 8.40pm and I glanced up to see the rainbow had other ideas. Not only was it still visible, but it was becoming brighter again.
So, naturally, I headed for The Pantiles.
I'm so glad I did.
Standing there, watching the light shift across the wet cobbles, seeing the rainbow arch over one of Tunbridge Wells' most iconic locations, felt very special.
Rainbows have a special significance in my life and my friends. Time and time again, they seem to appear during important moments, almost as if they're gently reminding me to stop, look up and appreciate what is right in front of me. Whether that's coincidence or something more, I honestly don't know. What I do know is that I never tire of watching the changing light, dramatic skies and the endless surprises nature reveals when we slow down enough to notice them.
After everything life has thrown my way last year, I feel incredibly blessed & I never take that for granted. Photography has taught me that beauty is everywhere, often in the most unexpected moments, and if sharing my images brings even a small smile to someone else's day, then that's a wonderful bonus.
Thank you Tunbridge Wells, for constantly giving me new reasons to fall in love with this town.

🌈 A Rainbow for a friend 🌈
Monday was one of those unexpectedly perfect afternoons.

A dear friend popped round for a coffee… although, if I’m being completely honest, the coffee quickly turned into a cheeky gin and tonic while we spent time playing with Peggy’s puppies! 🐾🥂

I hadn’t seen her for a little while, so it was lovely to catch up properly. Even better, she shared some wonderful news as she’s recently got engaged! 💍❤️ I couldn’t be happier for her.

After she left, I popped out for a while and, on my way home, found myself thinking about our afternoon together and all her news. Then I looked up and saw this.

A complete rainbow stretching across the sky over Tunbridge Wells.

In more than 30 years of living here, this is only the second time I’ve witnessed the entire arc of a rainbow from end to end in Tunbridge Wells.( they're two a penny in Scotland !)
It was one of those magical moments that stops you in your tracks and reminds you just how beautiful the world can be.

Perhaps it was simply a meteorological phenomenon. Or perhaps it was meant for my friend. 🌈✨

Either way, it felt special enough to share.

And yes... this image is already a strong contender for June in my 2027 Tunbridge Wells Calendar. 📅

What do you think - is it calendar-worthy?

✨ New Client, New Airbnb Listing, 17-Hour Turnaround! ✨

One of the things I value most in business is receiving recommendations from happy clients, so I was delighted when a valued repeat Airbnb host recently referred a new client to me.
This particular property in Maidstone needed professional photography quickly to get the listing live and attracting bookings. I arrived on site at 4pm on Friday, photographed the property, still managed to fit in my usual evening game of pickleball, and my client had a fully edited gallery delivered by 9am on Saturday morning! 📸⚡
What surprised me most was discovering that this was my client's very first Airbnb venture. The attention to detail, quality of the furnishings, and thoughtful presentation throughout the property were exceptional. Honestly, it looked every bit as polished as a listing from a seasoned Airbnb professional.
It's always a pleasure photographing properties where real care and thought have gone into creating a welcoming guest experience, and this one was no exception.
Wishing my client every success with the launch of his new Airbnb, and I look forward to working with him again in the future.
If you're launching a new Airbnb, holiday let, serviced accommodation, or rental property and need professional photography with a fast turnaround, I'd love to help.
📍 Covering Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Crowborough, Rye, and surrounding areas.

“Never work with children and animals…” so the saying goes… 🐾📸

But yesterday’s puppy photoshoot with Peggy’s beautiful litter was nothing short of magical. ✨

Having been there to witness these tiny pups being born to my gorgeous fur baby Peggy, it felt very special to finally capture them properly with my camera.

Their tiny paws, sleepy faces and mischievous little personalities completely stole the show although getting everyone to look in the right direction at the same time was another matter entirely! 😂
I absolutely loved every second of it.

As many of you already know, I photograph a wide variety of subjects, interiors, homes, architecture, events, portraits and landscapes but pet photography will always hold a very special place in my heart.
There’s something so honest and joyful about capturing animals and the connection people have with them. ❤️
So… Happy Bank Holiday everyone & here’s a little dose of cuteness to start your day. ☀️🐶

A lovely family day spent at Pashley Manor Gardens during their beautiful Tulip Festival 🌷
For years, one of my favourite spring destinations has been Keukenhof, wandering amongst endless tulips and spring flowers in bloom but this year, and with Peggy about to go into labour any minute, I couldn't travel very far this year to get my tulip fix.
Right on the doorstep of Royal Tunbridge Wells, Pashley Manor was absolutely stunning, full of colour, light and peaceful woodland walks carpeted with bluebells.
As many of you know, I usually photograph people, homes and interiors across Kent and Sussex, but this kind of photography is how I relax.
Following the flowers through the seasons, camera in hand, outdoors in all weathers… that’s my happy place 🌿📷

If you’ve followed my page for any length of time, you’ll know I tend to follow flowers opening through the seasons… just for fun 🌿
Being outdoors in all weathers is heavenly to me. One day, my dream is to own a little piece of woodland just like this.
I shot this at Pashley Manor Gardens during their beautiful Tulip Days, when I wandered down the woodland path because I knew the bluebells would still be out. And honestly… it felt magical.
As you know, I’m usually photographing people, interiors and houses, but getting outside and capturing landscapes like this is so restorative. There’s something about the light, the silence, the seasons changing… it resets everything.
What’s your dream? ✨

Every year, without fail, I find myself drawn back to the woods in search of that holy grail moment… when the bluebells are out and everything just feels quietly magical.
This was last week’s attempt, soft light, fresh greens, and that beautiful carpet of blue weaving its way through the trees. And yet, a few days later, I was back again… because somehow it’s never quite enough. I just can’t resist them.
After a frantically busy week, stepping into the stillness of the woodland feels like pressing reset. It’s grounding, restorative, and a gentle reminder to slow down and really look.
Nature always gives something different - you just have to be there to notice it.
This is a real scene and photo, with a touch of creative post-processing to reflect how it felt being there

These little Forget-me-not flowers have quietly become something very special to me.
My mum loved them.
Since she passed, they’ve started to appear all over my garden, gently spreading, as if they’ve chosen to stay close. Yesterday, I took my macro lens out to capture them at their very best, delicate, fleeting, but full of meaning.
The forget-me-not is also a symbol of Dementia. I remember so many visits to the hospital where this little flower symbol would be in her room, a quiet reminder to those caring for her of the memory struggles she was facing.
Now, every time I see these flowers, I don’t just see something beautiful. I see her.
Photography, for me, has always been about more than just images. It’s about holding onto moments, feelings, memories.
Whether it’s a home, a person, an event, or something as small as a flower… there’s always a story worth capturing.
If you’re looking for someone to photograph something important to you, I’d love to help you tell that story.

April has a way of quietly stealing your breath away 🌿
The blossom is everywhere right now, softening the landscape and reminding us just how beautiful this time of year can be. Standing beside the River Medway, watching the stillness of the water mirror every branch and bloom, I found myself completely lost in the moment. That little red bridge, reflected so perfectly, felt almost like stepping into a painting… and for a second, I was transported back to the gardens of Claude Monet I visited over 40 years ago..There’s something about this time of year that never loses its magic for me.

Early mornings, when the world is still quiet, and the first light stretches across blossom-covered trees… or filters through a carpet of bluebells… it feels like nature gently waking up again. The birds start their dawn chorus, the air feels fresh with possibility, and for a moment, everything slows down.

I often find myself out with my camera at these hours-not for work, but for the simple joy of it. It’s where I reconnect with why I fell in love with photography in the first place. Capturing homes, interiors, people, and events pay the bills and I love that work, but these quiet moments are where I refill my creative cup.
It really is my favourite time of year. The longer days, the softer light, the feeling that everything is beginning again… it’s a reminder of how special the ordinary can be.
And honestly… it’s just good to be alive.
