September is often the time that our young people are embarking on new adventures, new schools or new hobbies.

For us grown ups, once the children go back to school it can also be the time for us to take on some new challenges (it is for me this year).

So, for anyone who needs reminding, and in the words of Susan Jeffers (and regularly requoted by my dad throughout my life 😉) - 'feel the fear, and do it anyway!'

I think it is worth us all remembering.

(- it certainly gives me hope when the dark circles are already reforming under my eyes courtesy of the early alarm clock for the school run and the years are adding to the fine lines... must make sure I think lots of good thoughts! 😉)

That's a wrap for my Back to School Mini Portraits sessions for this year.

It's been a lot of fun meeting some new faces, welcoming back some older ones and adding younger siblings to the pictures too.

Here's my own (not so) little one ready for Year 5 with some of her (many) favourite books, clarinet and somewhat oversized uniform (well, it needs to last another 2 years!)

I hope the start of the academic year has gone smoothly for all of you.

It's that time of the year, when parents up and down the country are taking photographs of their front doors... with a uniform-clad child or two in front of them 😉

Just in case you didn't quite manage to capture the photos that you were hoping for in the rush of the morning, or you'd like some higher-quality images that can be printed and shared with extended family, then do come along this Saturday for my last School Mini Sessions of the year.

SCHOOL MINI PORTRAIT SESSIONS

Whether your little one is starting school for the first time, moving up to secondary or is anywhere in between, my School Mini Portrait Sessions are always a lot of fun and the photographs are really special reminders of those educational milestones ( -and believe me, they go far too quick!)

Sessions in my Tunbridge Wells studio last for up to 30 minutes and can include all of your school aged children both together and individually.

You will receive your choice of 3 hand edited digital images as well as professionally printed 10"x8" prints so that your photographs won't simply disappear into the digital ether of your phone!

I have limited availability on:
- Friday 30th August
- Saturday 31st August

THE PEBBLE HUNT IS BACK!

Annabel and I have decorated lots of pebbles and hidden them around Tunbridge Wells for you to find!

If you're one of the lucky ones, we'd love you to share a photo and tag so we can see which ones have been discovered - take a look at some that have already been shared (If you'd prefer to take a close up of a pebble in your child's hands rather than include their face, that would be super too)

The next step is to rehide your pebble so that the fun can continue - all the pebbles are unique, so you can also check back here to see whether you can spot 'your' pebble and where it has ended up now. I wonder which one will be found the most?!

Booking for my school mini sessions is now open!

SIBLINGS

Did you know that your School Mini Portraits Session can include all of your school age children?

In addition to a range of individual images, I will also capture some of your children together - these are the images that can often be overlooked or rushed when taken within a school setting.

This is especially worth thinking about if one of your children is moving up to secondary school this September, as you may have realised that you don't have a photograph (or don't have one that you actually like!) of the siblings together in their uniforms and so this summer is your last chance! - I've already had one client book in for exactly this reason!

On the other end of the education spectrum, perhaps your youngest will be starting school this year and you'd like to celebrate the moment with their big brother or sister. It's always very special to see that dynamic as the little ones are always excited to finally be big enough to follow their sibling into school and the older ones are proud to be able to lead the way.

Either way, I'd love to see you and capture some gorgeous moments for you.
