I am now on Pinterest! For an artist, Pinterest offers much more than a social media platform. Pinterest is more a visual search engine where posts (Pins and Boards) will gain engagement quicker and stick around for weeks, months and possibly even years! Unlike Instagram, content will not virtually disappear after a few hours and has the potential to gain far more traction for any content. After creating my profile and my first Board of visionary art (presented as a portfolio of 12 images), I am feeling high-spirted about my presence on the platform!

If you are looking for an alternative way of displaying visionary art, why not look for a niche in which to curate it.

And when I say niche, it doesn't necessarily mean an alcove. It could be a dedicated area where a small wall or section of a wall could be painted black to highlight the artwork. Include a piece of furniture below and add accessories. In many ways, this could become your 'altar' or a mini sanctuary. Somewhere to retreat into when you desire some journey time.

Of course, black is not to everyone's taste, so a colour that picks up on one of the colours in the artwork would also work. The key is to create an atmospheric space - not too light or cluttered - that feels curated and special, highlighting the depth and immersive experience of the artwork. In both respects, the surrounding environment could almost recede, allowing the artwork to become the visual destination.

Here, 'Cosmic Desert Dream' occupies its own alcove that hones in on the portal environment. The alcove itself almost reinforces the portal idea, giving depth to the experience.

‘Cosmic Desert Dream' is just released and will be ready shortly on the website. It will be available as prints and framed canvas prints. Enquiries always welcomed in the meantime!



(AI note: The artwork itself includes an element of AI. The room set includes an element of AI - namely the furniture and accessories). I use AI very sparingly in a select few of my artworks and only where no other option is currently open to me.

An artwork finds another path...

I'm trying something a little different with one of my earlier works.

Rather than remaining in my collection, I've decided to offer the piece through an online auction - giving it the opportunity to find a new home and a new story beyond the studio.

A new portal has emerged.

Somewhere in a deep and most verdant mystical forest, seekers gather to witness the opening of a portal, guarded by a canopy of intelligent living architecture. But where are the seekers? The seeker is you.

Hello all, hope you are well. As a once-in-a-lifetime planetary alignment is here, I feel myself beginning a new chapter. New beginnings are being felt and none more so than behind the scenes at Ian David Spencer - Visionary Artist. I have been working quietly and confidently behind the scenes formulating, exploring, creating and diving deeper. New ways are gradually emerging. New ways of telling stories. Fresh perspectives and evolving narratives. So I'd like to land here with a spoiler or two. What's coming? Stay tuned and I'll update when I discover more and cross the next threshold. 😀😉🙏
