Photography for McDonalds this morning, at the opening of their new restaurant in Helston. Photos were needed straight away, so were processed onsite, and sent to head office. Press releases went out soon after. This is the first local story I have spotted

It's been suggested that I should put up a post about me, and who I am. Always good to get the background story. So here goes:

Hi everyone 👋

I'm Paul, and I’m the photographer behind PR4Photos.

Born, and raised, in Truro, Cornwall, I trained and received my photography qualifications in Bristol, before joining a successful photography business in Truro in 1999.

For the next decade, I worked as a press photographer for both local and national newspapers, all whilst continuing to expand my skills in the studio. In 2009, I took the leap to start my own business, PR4Photos, with a simple mission: to put my clients first and capture those unforgettable moments that tell their unique stories. Whether it’s for businesses, brands, or special events, I’m dedicated to delivering exceptional photography that makes an impact.

I love helping local businesses showcase what makes them unique through professional imagery that works across websites, social media, advertising, and PR.

Yesterday was Trevithick Day, an annual celebration of Camborne, and its most famous son, Richard Trevithick.
I was asked by Camborne Town Council to photograph the event for them.

New interior and food photography yesterday, at the recently refurbished, fab, Chacewater Garden Centre Cafe. And lovely to see some of the photos already up, on their website :)

Our café is the perfect place to stop for hot drinks and meals, home made cakes and scones, snacks, breakfast, cold drinks and more.

I was meant to be on a photoshoot today, but it’s been postponed until next week. Rather than waste a rare break in what’s felt like endless wet weather, I took the opportunity for a bit of “me time” – camera in hand, of course.

That meant heading out for some black & white landscapes. The tide was right for a visit to Porth Nanven – better known as Dinosaur Egg Beach – and it didn’t disappoint. Those huge rounded stones always look fantastic in mono, especially with a bit of drama in the sky.

On the way home, I made a quick stop in Penzance to photograph the remains of the French brigantine Jeune Hortense, which ran aground on 17 May 1888. It’s amazing to think that a little piece of maritime history is still sitting there all these years later.

With such a diverse client base, many of whom are based outside of Cornwall, I don’t often get to see where my images end up being used. So it’s always a pleasure when I do a local shoot and spot the work out in the wild.
