Well, Saturday certainly gave us all the weather didn’t it?

Part of my job is to reassure you that the weather is something you just can’t control and to embrace it.

Luckily these beautiful souls knew that the most important this on the day was the two of them and the people they loved most in the world.

And if the weather does decide to make an appearance, sometimes it gives you something a blue sky never could.

It’s going to be a busy weekend!
Tomorrow I’ll be capturing the wedding of a truly wonderful couple at and Sunday I’ll be at two (yes TWO) amazing wedding fairs.

✨ DANCE PORTRAIT SESSIONS ✨

This feels like a project I've been building towards for years.

Before photography became my full-time career, I trained in Musical Theatre at Guildford School of Acting, worked professionally as a performer, spent many years teaching singers and performers, and have worked with young people throughout my career.

For the last four years I've also had the privilege of photographing and filming dance shows across Cornwall.

So I'm incredibly excited to finally launch Dance Portrait Sessions.

These sessions are designed to celebrate the dedication, artistry and personality behind every dancer. Whether you're building an audition portfolio, applying for college, updating your social media content or simply want beautiful images that capture your hard work, I'd love to create something special with you.

The first 10 bookings will receive a complimentary extra edited image.

These sessions are collaborative. Bring your own ideas, outfits, poses, jumps and movements. Beach, woodland, town or somewhere meaningful to you. Together we'll create images that genuinely reflect who you are as a dancer.

Last Tuesday was one of the hottest days of the year and Tregenna Castle looked absolutely incredible.

Just three guests. No huge guest list. No packed dance floor. No timetable packed from morning until midnight.

Just two people, completely focused on each other.

One of the things I love most about small weddings and elopements is that your photographer becomes a much bigger part of the day. When there are only a handful of people around, it’s so important that you have someone who helps everyone feel comfortable, keeps things relaxed and never makes the day feel like a photoshoot.

That’s where I come into my own.

Three hours of laughter, sunshine, beautiful views across St Ives Bay, and a couple who spent their wedding day exactly the way they wanted to.

Proof that you don’t need hundreds of guests for a wedding to be meaningful. Sometimes smaller really is better.

“We’re really awkward in photos.”

Then we spend an evening wandering around the Cornish coastline, having a laugh, chatting about wedding plans and taking a few photos along the way.

Turns out they’re never awkward.

Just human.

May has been a bit of a whirlwind.

In the last few weeks I've photographed full-day weddings, half-day celebrations, intimate weddings, and even an elopement. I've worked at venues I've known for years and discovered some incredible new ones. Every wedding has been completely different, but they've all had one thing in common...

Wonderful people.

Rainbow & Brad's wedding at Stennack Farm was one of those days that reminded me exactly why I do this. Relaxed, emotional, full of laughter, family, friends and two very important dogs.

Then this review landed in my inbox.

I'll be honest, I got a little emotional reading it.

One year ago I took the leap and went full-time with Thomas Hare Photography. It was exciting, nerve-racking and occasionally terrifying. Running your own business means plenty of sleepless nights and moments of self-doubt, but reviews like this make every bit of it worthwhile.

The greatest compliment I receive isn't about the photos. It's when couples tell me I helped them feel relaxed, comfortable and able to enjoy their day. The photos are always better when you're busy living the moments rather than performing for the camera.

What an amazing wedding 🤍

This was my first wedding at Stennack Farm (although I know the venue well from other events) and what a way to start. Such a beautiful setting and such a genuinely lovely day.

The Cornish weather kept us guessing a few times, but we got lucky and managed to have the ceremony outside beneath the arch by the hay bales and it was absolutely worth it.

Stennack feels like one of those venues that gets the balance right. Rustic without feeling too themed, relaxed but still really special. If you’re planning a barn wedding in Cornwall it’s definitely one to have on your list.

Huge shoutout to all the brilliant suppliers who brought the day together. Always a joy working with Katherine and the team at K&L, the food and cake from Ausel Cakes were incredible, the ceremony was beautifully run by our wonderful local registrars, and I’ll genuinely be thinking about those gyros from Dank Franks for a long time… Also a special mention to Muddy Paws for making sure the four-legged VIPs were part of the day without any stress 🐾🍴✨
