I hate having my photo taken. Fact! I avoid it all costs, avoid selfies and hide behind my camera as an excuse to escape ever being in front of the lens! And so I have lots of photos of my children and pets, so many goofy phone pics of beautiful Lady Lizzie and her adopted āsonā Barney.
Liz was my heart horse š¤ By my side for 18 years, my best friend, my confidante, my calm and my rock. Liz left us suddenly at the fabulous and rather vintage age of 33, just last November, leaving a rather large Lizzie sized hole in our hearts.
Iāve spent hours looking back though my archives at so many photos, but there are none of us together⦠and I regret it.
I so wish I had put my feelings of being uncomfortable aside and had some beautiful portraits taken while Lizzie was still with us. I should know better. I spend my life photographing couples and families and doing all I can to put them at ease in front of my lens and so, I shouldāve put my faith in someone to do the same for me. Itās too late for Liz and I, but itās really compelled me to do this for others, and so Dark Horse Photographic is born!
Having ridden and owned horses, dogs and cats for most of my life, I started my photography journey in Equestrian events and it now feels very natural to bring my emotive style of Fine Art Photography from my Weddings in to my Equestrian and Pet Portraiture.
Iām also super excited to create some images which combine both your beautiful wedding finery with your best four legged friends! Watch this space for updates or get in touch if youād like to be a part of the project!
