Not one of my favourite birds, but there are so many in the London Parks that it would be rude not to at least try and photograph them.

The cacophony of Ring-necked Parakeet calls is now an ever present chorus across many of our urban centres. This one was framed nicely by the vegetation with the sun shining on its head.

Filming in slow motion really captures the prehistoric look of the Moorhen's feet. The long toes aren't just for show - they help spread the weight when walking across aquatic vegetation and are lightly lobed to aid swimming.

I think Moorhens are often underappreciated, and this one walked along the banks throughout the day in between visits from the Kingfishers.
