Some of the most interesting macro photographs come from everyday objects that we rarely stop to examine. A hairbrush is a great example. When photographed close up, the familiar object becomes something entirely different. The individual bristles create repeating patterns, textures and shadows that are often overlooked at normal viewing distances. The scale and perspective of a macro image can transform a simple household item into an abstract landscape of lines and shapes, encouraging the viewer to look beyond its function and appreciate its visual qualities.
