🍂Autumn mini sessions 🍂

We have a very limited amount of sessions left for our autumn minis this weekend and next. So if you’ve been thinking of having some family photos taken, then this is your sign.

These are always some of our favourites of the year. Cosy jumpers, beautiful autumn colours, little ones playing in the leaves. Child-led, relaxed and easy-going, letting you and your children be yourselves.

And of parents to two wild girls, trust us when we say it doesn’t matter how feral your kids are 😅 Let them run wild and get muddy and that’s the magic of this season we’ll photograph 🍂🍄✨🌾

Maddie + Reece at Whirlow Hall Farm Trust part 2 - a colour filled entrance, baby Highland cows and an absolutely epic dance floor 🎉

After we’d all dried our eyes from the speeches, we jumped in the trailer with Maddie + Reece for a tractor ride up to the vineyard. How did we get so lucky that this is part of a normal day at work for us?!

And can we talk about Maddie’s dress (and those sleeves)?! An original 70s vintage wedding dress and it was absolutely incredible. When Danielle Cheston (who actually did my wedding hair) saw Maddie’s dress she said, “Oh Meg, that’s a bit of you, isn’t it?!” And she wasn’t wrong haha.

Back in the barn, Maddie + Reece kicked off the celebrations with the most amazing entrance - full of colour, everyone waving ribbons and singing “Hi Ho Sheffield Wednesday” because obviously this is a Sheffield wedding 😂

Then, during the meal, the lovely team at Whirlow Hall Farm Trust let us know the baby Highland cows were in the field around the back of the barn. So we chucked our half eaten plates down and snuck out for some photos with the fluffy coos 🐮

Back inside, the dancing kicked off with their first dance, confetti cannons and the incredible band keeping everyone on their feet all night 🕺🏻🎉

Honestly, what an incredible day with two of the loveliest people. A colourful, completely personal Sheffield wedding, full of dogs, and a big celebration of Maddie and Reece and everything they love. We genuinely didn’t want to leave. What a privilege this thing we call work is 🧡

Maddie + Reece at Whirlow Hall Farm Trust - part 1, the bit with the dogs in church 🐶🐕

These two got married at Bradfield Church, and we absolutely loved that their dog family members were there for the day too, including their very sweet rescue dog Pippa.

Swipe to spot Maddie’s family dog casually poking her head out from the pews during the ceremony 😂 Honestly, we’re very much here for dogs at weddings.

Everyone then headed over to one of our new favourite Sheffield wedding venues, Whirlow Hall Farm Trust. Maddie had put so much thought into the decorations and the whole place was absolutely bursting with colour, personality and soul 🧡

They had their speeches outside in the garden, underneath the bunting and surrounded by all their favourite people. Seeing women stand up and speak at weddings will always have a special place in my feminist heart ✨🙌🏻

This is exactly the kind of wedding we love photographing, relaxed, colourful, personal, and completely about the people getting married (and their dogs, obviously).

Emma + Rob

Our lovely pals tied the knot earlier this summer surrounded by their closest family in the super cool mid-century Civic Centre in Newcastle. Followed by a walk around the city. It was such a lovely chilled day and we couldn’t be happier for them!

Emma + Will’s wedding was a particularly amazing example that weddings can be whatever you want them to be. No rules. Just something that means something to you.

They had a special connection with Ecclesall Woods, so they found a opening in the woods that felt right, took all their family and friends there, made their own ceremony, got some friends to play music, and finished with a giant group hug. So magical!

Watching the whole wedding party walk through the woods to find a hidden clearing was honestly really beautiful.

The Ecclesall Woods discovery centre was the perfect place for them, with backdrop of the woods, it just felt like the most relaxed day.

Top it off with speeches in the gardens, a beautiful set up and fab organising by the wonderful Event planner & stylist • Sheffield, Yorkshire & Peak District.

Oh and a p***s shaped rice crispy cake made by their friends. Surely the next upcoming trend for wedding cakes?! So much fun!

Swipe to the end for a cheeky 🍑 (proving couples photos don’t have to be serious, or show your face 😂) We love it when couples don’t take it too seriously, are silly and just have fun! Not a photo we can say we’ve taken before, but after their life size cardboard cut out showing their naked bums as part of their wedding decor, it was hilarious and so them haha.

Sophie & Hannah + highland cows + drag queens + cats = the most joyful and wonderfully q***r celebration of them and their love ❤️🧡🤍🩷🏳️‍🌈

We photographed this day during a very hard time personally for us, just 2 days later my lovely Nanna sadly died. And honestly this joy filled massive celebration with so much laughter and fun, really was the best medicine for us. Oh and throw in some animal therapy in the form of highland cow cuddles, it was just what we needed (I had to use all my strength to let Han and Soph go first with stroking the baby cows haha).

We were then treated to insane performances and drag bingo from the ridiculously good and hilarious 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗮•𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and 𝕰𝕮𝕳𝕺. And as DragRace fans we were loving it. Seriously can’t recommend enough a drag show for wedding entertainment, it was SO fun!

We’ve been desperate to share this incredible day for weeks now (but ya know life has been pretty full on for us). However, I feel like now is actually the perfect time to share. This week a post went viral where a uk photographer said she would only photograph ‘traditional male and female’ couples 🫣 So although it’s absolutely awful to see such blatant homophobia and discrimination still within our industry (without even mentioning that it’s actually illegal), it has been great to see the wave of love and positivity towards the lgbtq+ community from a huge amount of wedding suppliers and industry folk. It also reminds us that we all need to do better to make the wedding world inclusive to all people.

In Sophie’s speech she spoke about the women and people who came before them and paved the way for where we are today, with two women in love and proudly marrying each other. There is still more work to be done, but these two are part of that history now and part of shaping the future for the better.

Amy + Greg’s surprise wedding with just 8 guests and a walk to get coffee ☕️

We absolutely loved this day and were right in our element; our fave area in Sheffield, amazing coffee and the loveliest couple 🙌🏻

Amy and Greg planned their day around the most important things to them, a beautiful intimate ceremony with their little boy by their side and their immediate families. A lovely drinks reception with a beautiful little cake to share (us included which was so sweet!) And then a walk to for some seriously good coffee and their relaxed couples portraits. Perfect!

I’ll leave you with an amazing fun fact, guess how much Amy’s dress was…?

£5! Yes that’s right, not a typo 😮 Amy being the queen of budgeting (check her out ) she managed to pick her stunning dress up at a charity shop! And as a lifelong lover of charity shops and secondhand shopping this would be my ultimate dream! My own wedding dress was secondhand from Vinted but Amy definitely won here with hers.

Hazel + Jack 🌞✨

Filled with soul, sunshine and so much love. Such a beautiful and special day to be part of. Their diy wedding with the help of all their friends and family with the stunning backdrop of Castleton. It was like a community coming together, a friend as celebrant for their hand-fasting, guests moving chairs after the ceremony, family members from both sides coming together to create a ‘family choir’ to sing to them, multiple things made by people, jack’s sister doing a hoop performance, friends taking it in turns to dj. All there to show Hazel and Jack how loved they are and to celebrate their lives together.

Throw in some of the best food we’ve ever eaten (including their favourite ice cream which was brought up from Cambridge), a drive in our van up to the incredible Winnats Pass, and then back in time for their first dance which ended up being outside just at the *exact* time the sun was setting and peaking through the gap in hills to bathe them in the golden light. Pure magic 🧡

Oh and did I mention Hazel’s dress?! 😵😍
